Traditional cachaça producer, the Zillo family started working in the field in 1906, when Mr. José Zillo and his brothers set up a still distillery in the Rocinha neighborhood, in Lençóis Paulista, where they lived.
After a brief period developing this activity, José Zillo directed his business towards the sugar and alcohol sector. However, the Zillo family's history of making cachaça continued with one of their nephews, Mr. Gino Zillo, who kept the production going until 1971. In 2007, Luiz Santana Zillo, José Zillo's grandson, and his children rescued the family's origins by creating Engenho São Luiz, with the proposal to offer lovers of good cachaça a special product.

Building that housed the municipal government and, after being vacated, housed the Municipal Museum in 1988, founded by Alexandre Chitto, journalist, historian and great lover of Lençóis. In addition to his passion for the city and culture, he left the museum and several works from 1958, as well as the newspaper O Eco from 1938, still in circulation in the municipality.
A point of cultural and tourist interest, the museum represents the roots of the city and region, portraying the birth of Lençóis Paulista, by exhibiting and preserving pieces related to the history of the community, presenting a true living lesson in a history of passion, tradition, culture and expression. . The Museum is registered with IBRAM – Instituto Brasileiro de Museus and SISEM – Sistema Estadual de Museus and participates in all events scheduled by these two bodies, such as the "National Museum Week" and the "Museum Spring" in September.
On display, we highlight an Igabaça (indigenous funerary urn) dating from 1680 and the bed used by Dom Pedro II when he stayed in the region in 1873. Altogether there are more than 4 thousand pieces cataloged and it offers its visitors a variety of permanent and temporary exhibitions.
Created with the purpose of housing old and fragile works that were poorly stored on the upper floor of the Municipal Library “Orígenes Lessa”, the Cidade do Livro Cultural Space began its activities on September 23, 2006 from the location of the building that, in 2007, it was definitively acquired by the City Hall. The collection of the Cidade do Livro Cultural Space is composed of the Rare and Special Works Sector of the Municipal Library “Orígenes Lessa” with works from the 16th century, personal archives (among books, manuscripts and objects) of renowned national and local writers, among them that of Orígenes Lessa, Cora Coralina, Antonio Houaiss, Olavo Bilac and Guimarães Rosa, for example; the Municipal Historical Archive with a collection of city newspapers, photos, magazines, vinyl records, architectural plans, among other documents related to the city of Lençóis Paulista and region.
It is an advisory body of the Administrative Secretariat and a research center; Its purpose is to collect, preserve and guarantee access to archival and literary documents of permanent value, as well as to historical cultural assets, the described sector being directly subordinated to the Secretary of Culture. To achieve its goals of safeguarding and maximizing the physical integrity of documents and books (research sources) for the next generations, the site has a Conservation and Repair Laboratory where paper documents are treated with special materials, their physical integrity, or made special packaging for its safekeeping when necessary.
The Cidade do Livro Cultural Space also has a Digital Preservation and Digitization Laboratory, which in addition to safeguarding the collection through digitization, manages the Orígenes Lessa Digital Library, providing access to the rarest books, periodicals and documents (site: http://www .lencoispaulista.sp.gov.br) for online research by the community and national and international research institutions; in their own environments; uninterrupted access to the collections and 24-hour library; a free library accessible to the various classes of Internet users.
The place is a reference documentation center in the region, as it is the only public body in the interior to provide this type of service and because it has in its custody a wide and priceless historical collection. The Cultural Space serves researchers with free, scheduled and monitored visits; receives and holds exhibitions, promotion of events, workshops, courses with an area for lectures and holding of events. On the ground floor is the “Monteiro Lobato” Children's Library, which originated in one of the rooms at BMOL, and gained its own space. The Nossa Senhora da Piedade Sanctuary, built in the 50s, was the first church in the city. The Parish was mentioned in the document of land donations to Nossa Senhora da Piedade on 07/22/1858, when Lençóis was elevated to the category of Parish, which gives us the certainty that it was created before this date, so everything indicates, on the 15th of April 1858.
In 2008, on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the City and Parish, the Praça do Santuário was completely remodeled and on May 31, 2009 it received eight life-size monuments, representing the Seven Sorrows of Nossa Senhora da Piedade.
The Sanctuary houses the image of the Pietá carved in wood by an Italian artist, works in paintings by the visual artist from Lençóis, Ivone Paccola, in which she portrays the pains of Mary and the replica of the “Cathedra” used by Pope Benedict XVI, when he came to Brazil to canonization of Frei Galvão and which was built by the students of the SENAI Unit in Lençóis Paulista.
Recently the Sanctuary underwent an internal and external renovation, with all its structure and architectural beauty prevailing.

Vinícola Casagrande is a rural tourism property in the traditional neighborhood of “Rocinha” that dates back to the origins of the village of Lençóis Paulista. The history of Sítio Rocinha begins in 1889 when the first Italian immigrants started on the banks of the Lençóis River, small plantations or swiddens for the subsistence of families, these small swiddens gave rise to the name Rocinha.
On the site, there is still a house dating from 1889, in which the journalist and historian Alexandre Chitto was born on February 7, 1901. Since the place is owned by the Casagrande family, the tradition of planting has been kept for five generations. of grapes and the production of wines in an artisanal way.
At harvest time it is possible to carry out the “Colhe e Pague” and visit the cellar where the wine barrels are and feel part of the production process. The Winery has an emporium with several homemade products and also has a restaurant on the weekends with delicious homemade food, such as the traditional filet parmigiana and Italian pasta.
